Breath of Life

This is the story of a little rabbit named Atchim. Atchim lived with his parents and little brothers in a very beautiful village called Mundo Encantado dos Animais.

Atchim was not completely happy, because since he was born, he suffered from such a strong allergy that there was no doctor, even in the enchanted world in which he lived, who could stop his sneezing and discover the cause of his allergy.

Throughout his life he was teased by his friends, and even his real name, which was Florismundo, was changed to Atchim. No one liked to be around him, and with each passing day, Atchim was becoming more isolated and living in his own little world. Atchim was a sad and very lonely bunny. Atchim often didn’t feel like going to school, because he was tired of being criticized by everyone.

The fault for the kind of life he led was partly his alone. Atchim never obeyed his mother, when she advised him to carry a handkerchief in his pocket when he left the house, and he had the bad habit of wiping the rain that came out of his sneezes with his hands, and then passing it on his pants. Thus, Atchim continued his life, always going through such distressing and embarrassing moments.

One day, his allergy got much worse, and while he was in line for the bus that would take him to school, he sneezed so hard that the drizzle of his sneeze landed right on the neck of a very coquettish bunny who was standing next to him. front. The bunny looked like she was ready for a party, as she was so dressed up. In her cornrows, she wore bows of colored ribbons, and over her dress, she wore an apron all embroidered, designed with flowers and butterflies.

Really, Atchim was very unlucky. If only I had sneezed on a rascal rabbit like Frajola… I think there might even be a fight, but I wouldn’t have to go through the shame of being scolded by such a coquettish and coquettish bunny, in full view of everyone in line at the bus. And that’s what the bunny did, the moment she felt that something cold had fallen on her back. At first he thought it was rain splashes, which would have been impossible as the day was so beautiful. So he decided to look back and ask Atchim if he used to use a handkerchief when he sneezed. Atchim felt like disappearing, and once again, he was considered rude, as he didn’t even have the courage to answer.

As time went by, his family was no longer invited to friends’ birthdays, when one day, a family that had recently moved close to his house, not knowing about Atchim’s problem, invited the whole family for a birthday party. During the party, which was very lively, everything was going well, until the moment when the guests were called to approach the table, and see the birthday boy blow out the candles on the cake. Atchim shouldn’t have been as close as he was, but, since he arrived at the party, he had his eye on the cake, which looked to be very tasty. Atchim was very greedy, and he stayed very close to the cake, which was shaped like a big carrot, to see if he would get one of the first slices. It was at that moment that Atchim was punished for his gluttony. Because of the smoke that came out of some candles, and that came right towards his nose, he sneezed so hard, so hard, that he blew out all the candles at the same time, even before the birthday boy tried to blow them out. Everything happened very suddenly. Atchim didn’t even have time to move away from the cake. The birthday boy was very upset, because in addition to not being able to blow out the candles, the cake got all wet with the rain that came out of Atchim’s nose along with the sneeze, and who knows, it was full of microbes. The cake that seemed to be very tasty was no longer appreciated by the bunnies and the guests of the party, who, anxious like Atchim, were waiting to eat the delicious cake.

Atchim’s parents were very embarrassed, and they left the party at the same time. Atchim was very sad, because in addition to what happened, he was left without the souvenir that the bunnies would win at the end of the party. The souvenir was a beautiful little box, full of chocolates in the shape of little carrots. The carrots even had little green handles. How many good parties did your family miss after that day, as they were rarely invited. I think Atchim did not know the saying that goes: “The last will be first”, otherwise he would not have stayed so close to the cake. It was a pity, because if he had known… none of this would have happened.

Another bad situation that Atchim went through because of his allergy was when there was a soccer game at the school where he studied. Have you ever imagined a soccer game with bunnies as part of the team? This happened when a team from the neighboring city came to play with his school. All the students from the Atchim school who participated in the game were nervous, as they had heard that the team was very good. Incredibly, Atchim was one of the students chosen to participate in the game. The trainer knew that despite the problem he had with his sneezing, Atchim was a good runner, he was very agile and ran a lot on his long legs. The day of the game finally arrived. The whole school was in attendance and rooting for their team, and the game was going to be tough until after halftime. There were only a few seconds left for the game to end, and the match was still 0-0. Not even Atchim with his long legs had managed to score a goal. The crowd cheered, when at a certain moment, Atchim caught the ball in his foot, and took it with great speed until close to the crossbar. The very nervous goalkeeper started to get ready to catch the ball. That would be a very important moment, in which Atchim could get the victory for his school, mainly because the goalkeeper slipped and fell on his chest on the ground. Everyone was rooting for the long-awaited goal, but the winning goal did not happen. I think you may already be guessing why. Due to the dust that was leaving the field, Atchim felt like sneezing just as he was going to kick the ball and try to score. As sometimes happens when people sneeze, Achim closed his eyes and missed the winning kick. The ball skimmed off the crossbar. At that same moment, the referee blew the whistle for the end of the game… which unfortunately ended with the score 0-0. little poster with his friends who always made fun of him. In fact, the friends who made fun of him were never his true friends, because we should never make fun of anyone, especially when the person has a little problem like Atchim. Atchim left the field crying, and not knowing how to face the fury of his instructor and everyone else in the school. This was yet another great disappointment in poor Atchim’s life.

Time passed, when one day, Atchim’s mother took him to pull out the two front teeth that were falling out. Atchim was already almost seven years old and the real teeth wanted to be born and couldn’t find space. Only, the dentist couldn’t pull out his teeth, because every time the dentist came with the needle to give the injection with the anesthesia, Atchim started to have a sneezing access. I think Atchim was very smart that day. Ever since he left the house, he had been scared to death of the needle’s prick, and so he thought of pretending he was actually sneezing, and not stopping. Because he didn’t let his teeth be pulled out as he needed, he became the toothiest bunny in town. Looking at the photo on the cover of the story, you can see how Atchim was. Poor Atchim, in addition to having this problem with sneezing, he also had a toothache.

To end the stories that happened in the life of the rabbit Atchim, I will end with a happy event that happened in his life. It was school holidays, and her parents decided to go with the whole family to summer camp. In summer camps, especially for parents, there are few diversions. At the camp, when night came and the children were already sleeping, the parents got together and started talking about their lives and the little problems that existed in their families. In one of these meetings, Atchim’s mother decided to talk about Atchim’s allergy problem, and how much it interfered with his life, not only at school but also with his relationships with all his friends. That night, a very old rabbit, known as Professor Florismundo, was in the group. He had traveled to distant lands around most of the world. He was very intelligent and very wise. What a coincidence, no? Having the same name as the Atchim bunny. That’s when he calmly addressed Atchim’s mother, saying that the problem that afflicted Atchim, maybe it was the carrot he ate since he was born. Have you ever thought that carrots are bad for rabbits? Everyone was immediately surprised, but for Atchim’s mother, this advice was very important. So he decided to follow the old professor’s advice, and the first thing he did when he got back from vacation was to remove carrots from his daily diet for a month. How difficult it was for poor Atchim, seeing everyone at home eating fresh little carrots harvested from his own backyard. And so, as time went by, Atchim got better, and finally he was completely healed. Thanks to this wise teacher, Atchim has become a happy bunny, and he can live with his friends at school, with his neighbors and with other people again.

Atchim, with all these little problems he had, learned a lot. Above all, he learned to accept his mother’s advice, and whenever he left the house he carried a handkerchief in his pocket. Only, Atchim didn’t carry an ordinary handkerchief in his pocket, as he also learned from his mother that a handkerchief made of cloth is not very hygienic. Your mother taught you that all the little microbiomes that come with the drizzle of a sneeze are always on the handkerchief. So, whenever he went out, Atchim took a small box of disposable tissue not only for himself, but also to offer people when they couldn’t avoid sneezing in public. Atchim also learned something very important: Always listen to what his mother advised. If he had always listened to his mother, he wouldn’t have had so many embarrassing moments in his life.

Of all that happened in Atchim’s life, the best thing was that he was once again called by his own name, which he was so proud of… Florismundo. Incredibly, even with that very different name, Atchim was very proud of his name, as it was the name of his paternal grandfather. Did you like that name? I would like to know, because I didn’t like it.

I remembered telling Atchim’s story when he was afraid to pull his teeth out, as a reminder of the day my granddaughter Stephanie’s two front teeth were falling out, and she had to go to the dentist. I knew that she had been very brave, very different from Atchim, because Stephanie wasn’t even afraid of the anesthesia needle. Stephanie received anesthesia looking like a grown-up and was very brave. There are people who are already adults, and still look like scared little children. I know such a person. Y ‘ all know too?
