Breath of Life
Nights of insomnia.
Nights with worried thoughts on my mind.
Nights wasted by countless thoughts,
Until dawn brings us another day.
Why so many nights spent crying?
Why such depth of anguish in a heart so full of joy?
I miss the happy moments of the past,
I miss what life took from me… took from my life.
Thoughts that I have during nights of insomnia,
Are foolish, painful and sorrowful.
Thoughts I wish one day
Will be completely forgotten.
I feel the stillness of the night,
I can hear the early birds singing to the dawn.
Sounds that I will remember in my empty nights,
Sounds that will be my comfort in those lonely nights.
So… as night melts away and the sun rises… I beg to life:
Change into rest my worried nights,
Change into joy this anguish that I feel,
Change into smiles… my burning tears.
