Breath of Life
Sleepless nights thinking about life,
Nights with ghosts dominating my mind.
Whole sleepless nights I spend,
I feel the dawn of another day coming.
Why this great anguish and these nights of tears
In a heart so full of life?
My thoughts are foolish,
They are suffering thoughts.
These are thoughts that one day,
Who knows... will be forgotten.
Thoughts I have on sleepless nights:
I miss a day gone by,
I miss everything that is impossible,
I miss everything that life took away from me.
I feel the passing of the silence of the night.
I hear the dawn of singing birds.
Sounds that join my silly thoughts,
Sounds that maybe you hear in another sleepless night.
Oh!.. if I could win a gift of life.
I would turn those lost nights into nights of sleep.
I would transform this anguish I feel into life.
I would turn these felt tears into laughter.
