Que sofre em nosso país.
Chico de braços abertos, cantando e sorrindo,
Veio representar nossa música, nossa terra,
Encantando à todos, sedentos
Por suas músicas serenas, alegres, ardentes,
Vindo do fundo de um coração de poeta.
Chico que com Marieta,
Trouxe seu canto brejeiro, cheirando veneno.
Que veio e que trouxe, momentos divinos, momentos de vida,
Para nós Brasileiros saudosos,
Por estarmos distantes de nossa terra.
